Enjoyed a Holy Vegetable Bowl & borsht. Everything was well made including the homemade hollandaise which was very fresh tasting. All the baked goods looked great. Rustic artisan vibe.

Had the iced lavender London fog and it was amazing! Service was wonderful. When travelling in that area will definitely visit again.

Shared a hot chocolate with my boyfriend here last weekend while we were visiting... Super cute little place! Hot chocolate wasn't very chocolatey though, more like warm milk with a bit of chocolate. Would go back to try other things though!

Lovely little cafe in the heart of Chemainus. Coffee was unique and much needed on my way to Victoria. They came highly recommended from a friend and I can honestly say their waffles are the best I've had in years, nearly as tasty as my grandmother's. It had a combination of a whole wheat recipe with berries and almonds that was unexpectedly delicious together. If you only have one chance to try something here absolutely taste the waffles

Some incredibly delicious waffles with a blueberry compote and an always smiling and helpful staff makes this one of the premiere food and coffee spots in Chemainus.

Lovely place in the heart of Chemanis. Pleasant vibe and friendly service. The food is made with care and passion. That means there is a bit of a wait for food orders, but worth it.

Tasty and well priced. Clean and easily accessible to everyone. I wish it fitted better the Avonlea feel of the town though... but yeesh, you cant doc them for not putting more lace up!

I never leave reviews, mostly due to me forgetting to leave one later on.Anyway, today I had the best shrimp salad sandwich in my life, and i've had tons of them.That is all.

very cute place at Chemainus, a nice stop during shopping downtown. staff there are friendly. clean washroom. I had muffin there, it was very good. will come back again.

Best egg's benny I've had in a long time. The eggs were perfect and the chef wasn't stingy with the Hollandaise. The benny's with Drumroaster's coffee and a casual old house/cafe made a great brunch before heading over to the Chemainus Theatre for the afternoon show. I think I've found a new tradition.

By far the best Eggs Benny I've tasted to date. The atmosphere, food and coffee was excellent! I live out of town but will be returning soon for the eggs Benny.

Best restaurant benny I've had (and we've had many!) !! Fresh fresh FRESH food and really lovely friendly space. I am smitten. My partner and I both work in the food service industry and are self proclaimed foodies so it's sometimes hard to impress us, we WILL be returning!! Thank you for the excellent meal.

A charming and relaxing spot for a great meal, snack or coffee amongst the artisan shops of the New Town area of Chemainus.I think it was a wise choice when they named the establishment Bistro rather than Cafe. The quality of the well crafted dishes, fresh baked treats and savoury bites lends itself to the higher standard they set in town. The meals are prepared fresh to order so come with that in mind as good things take a little longer to create. They serve Drumroasters coffee here which is roasted locally in the Cowichan Valley, popular with locals and visitors. The Owl theme throughout the Bistro creates a unique atmosphere via interesting photos and decorations. The staff are friendly and inviting providing counter service ordering only. You can sit inside, out front when weather allows likewise with the neat discrete side alley patio. I think you would enjoy your visit here and if you do stop by I recommend the Holy Cowichan Bowl or Salmon Benny as their signature dishes.

Tasty food and a very short walk to the theater. The chicken panini was very good and the apple slaw is a delicious bright bite

Stopped in for a to-go sandwich and soup today. The tuna melt is phenomenal and the soup was great. Awesome little lunch place!

Visited on a sunny saturday. My friend's dietary needs were more than met, and the food was delicious!

Lunch was amazing, Thai Coconut Chicken Soup, followed by Crab and Shrimp Cakes, all GF and very savoury. Wonderful service and deep dark coffee to finish ..... ahhhhh

Espresso & latte came super quick with friendly and attentive service. Veggie panini was tasty and filling. Cute and cozy place with ample variety of dine-in seating. Appreciate the extra work on the staff of sanitizing every table after each use.

Great food. Nice service. Wait times can be long when it's busy, like anywhere else. The only thing that's not positive that I can say is that I asked once if the crab cakes could be an actual meal ($16.00) and was told that yes, it's a meal. It's not. I had to order a scone (yummy) after the crab cakes because ar best they were an appetizer. Great food here.
